I dont wanna I dont wanna I dont wanna wait in vain.....

Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, 'This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man.'

Marriage is an important issue in the Christian life. Vast numbers of books, magazines and marriage counseling resources are dedicated to the subject of marriage preparation and marriage improvement.. The general theory is that there is the 'one' who was specially created to be your life long mate.

What Does the Bible Says About Marriage?

Gen. 2:18, 21-24
The Lord God said, 'It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him'...and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh.
Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, 'This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man.' For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. (NIV)

Here we see the first wedding. We can conclude from this account in Genesis that marriage is God's idea, designed and instituted by the Creator. In these verses we also discover that at the heart of God's design for marriage is companionship and intimacy.

What Does the Bible Say?
• Marriage was designed for companionship and intimacy.

My simple question is, how long are you willing to wait for that one?

I think people should wait as long as it takes to get the right person for them.

I tend to lean more towards 1 Corinthians 7 where Paul talks about how marriage is not for everyone.
Some might wait forever if they wait for the right partner that might never come.
I know I know. Doesn't seem fair.

I agree with Myne.......

The right time n person is individualistic......not a norm.

Marriage is beautiful but not compulsory......people need to learn to be complete without it.

It's better to wait a long time than to rush into the arms of the wrong one and rush out just as fast.Marriage is a very serious issue, more serious than most people realize and this is the reason why many try out marriages.

This blog is slowly becoming a slightly less risque version of Afrobabe's.....

I personally do not see the evidence in the biblical narrative that there is The ONE.. But then maybe I've been browsing my bible upside down sha ooo

@Think about it: Doesnt seem fair not to know too :(

@Omoregee:Brilliant as an Idea but very hard to actually follow. thanks

@tnotes: Nah my picture was never in this blog :)

@ A-9ja great: Very good point and seriously noted

@Ibhade: Very true o, its the not knowing when thats the killer

@Rustgeek: methinks Afrobabe will be offended that you compare this iddy biddy innocenty blog to hers o.As for your second comment, I quote:

Couldnt that be the 'One'? Though I fully empathise that people from tghe rusty city and even from the city near it (Delta) reject this just 'One' woman malarkey VEHEMENTLY. Rofl! Just kidding.

@All: Thanks for all the comments xxxxx

@Mena..
Long comment alert......

Hmm.. In my humble RustVille opinion, Adam and Eve are a very specific case - one where there were only two people on the planet. At most this an argument for a one man-one-wife correspondence. How that morphs into the general principle that there is one person specifically created for another isn't clear to me, from here at least. It stands to reason though, that there will be vagaries of behaviour and quirks of character (amongst all the other worldview, social, political and even genetic considerations) that would make person A a better fit for person B than say person C. However, I would suggest that these mutually-aligned pairs are in their hundreds to thousands, not one person..
